My husband got the results from a blood test today. It showed a few levels were high and he is concerned about what that might mean. He is waiting to hear from the doctor, which will hopefully be in the next few days, but is very nervous in the meantime. Can you help give us some idea of what these results may mean? Is this a sign of things that need to be monitored, or a sign of something developing (i.e. Cancer, liver disease)? He is 52 years old. His hematocrit level was 0.503, his alanine aminotransferase was 68, and his aspartate aminotransferase was 41.

Hello lybrate-user. You will need to consult with full reports. And especially the symptoms of the patient. These reports are not suggestive of cancer. May have some liver inflammation.
