Does regular blood donation cause tiredness, fatigue or loss of haemoglobin and iron in body. From last 10 years I donate blood every 3 months but since last six months I am having problem of tiredness, fatigue and my hemoglobin and iron level has also decreased. Please advise if regular blood donation can be cause and what all precautions I should take.

What is your age n what is your hemoglobin right now. Also do you have any illness. If everything is alright then no problem you can blood donate every 12 weeks. But if you feel tiredness. Then increase this interval to 15 or 16 weeks. The minimum interval between 2 donations is 12 weeks (3 months). This interval allows our body Val allows our body to restore it iron stock. Platelet (aphaeresis) donors may donate more frequently than - as often as once every two weeks and up to 24 times per year.
