Hello Doctor, My grandmother is around 85 years old, and since last year we have been observing change in her behaviour like she says things which do not exist or are not logical at a particular time. She seems to have auditory hallucinations and delusions. If we make her understand that its just her imagination or the situation is not taking place, she starts getting annoyed and changes to anger. She is a heart patient. And already prescribed with calcium channel blockers. She won't agree to see a doctor. What should be done?

You should never confront a patient s delusion and hallucinatory experience, which lead to worsening of the symptoms and agitation. Somehow you have to make her consult a psychiatrist (discuss with the psychiatrist, they will tell how to bring her in). After evaluation if the psychotic symptoms are treated well with medications, she will show good improvement. All the best.
