I am 63 years male. For many years, may be for the last 7 to 8 years, the frequency of my urination was every two hours and night getting up 2 to 3 times. The volume of urine is not appreciable but I feel relieved if I pass the urine. I consulted the Urologist six months back. 1) Took Urimax 0.4 for a couple of days and stopped it as it raises my heart rate when I get up from sleep and climb the stairs which also made my dizzy. 2) Took Alfoo 10 mg and the effects are same as above, may be worse. This caused my BP to drop very low and my heart raced to 122-125) I was prescribed Silodal 8 mg and NU BPH. I do not feel any appreciable side effect on heart rate and BP as that of Urimax and Alfoo. I am now taking this for the last six months and the results are slightly better as far as urination frequency and volume is concerned. I am asked to continue this. 1) Will Silodal taken in the long run have any harmful effect on the heart? With my experience with Urimax and Alfoo. 2) I am having lot of gas in my stomach and whether this will give the feeling of urge to urinate? If my stomach is clear and fine I am comfortable and can go on for 3 to 4 hours also. So whether my problem is related to stomach condition. My latest USG shows prostate size as 4.1x4.0x2. 9 cm (Volume 25 cc) Impression: Mild Prostatomegaly. Uroflowmetry results: Start-0 sec, Stop-1 min 28 sec, Flow start-22 sec, Max Flow-14.1 ml/sec, Max Flow time-11 sec, Average Flow-4.9 ml/sec, Void duration-1 min 1 sec, Voided volume-427 ml, Residual volume-Nil, Number of flow interval-0-DO MY ABOVE SYMPTOMS REQUIRE ME TO CONTINUE THE MEDICATION SILODAL AND NU BPH AND ARE THEY SAFE IN THE LONG RUN TO AVOID ANY COMPLICATIONS FOR UROLOGICAL PROBLEMS IN FUTURE. Thank you for your kind time and advice.
