Recently while playing football, I pulled my groin. I felt a sharp pain and was unable to move my leg. After a week now, I am much better though not fully fit. But I have some pain in my lower abs. It hurts even when I cough, or get up from my bed. I came across a term called sports hernia. Which is more serious to a general groin pull. Is there a way how I could determine if its just a pull or something else. How should I plan my rehab as I need to get back playing asap.

Kindly consult a general surgeon and get a thorough examination done. You can get an usg abdomen and inguinal region which shows if you have any hernia.
