Irregular periods generally donot increase the risk of breast cancer. The non modifiable risk factors are increasing age, female sex and familial cancers (BRCA 1 and 2). The other factors are due to increased estrogen exposure which may be due to early menarche, late menopause, nulliparity, no Breast feeding, Oral contaceptive pills and Hormone replacement Therapy.
