Hi yesterday I visited to a senior consultant gastro doc actually I?m suffering from anus itching and burning so he examined the place and said that I have a minor symptom of piles and fissure but he prescribed some blood test, whole abdominal usg and colonoscopy should he thinking any negative vibes I?m just 24 years old.

Hello, If it is only anal itching & burning anus that you provided to the Doctor, then in opinion it is not necessary to go for blood test, usg or colonoscopy. a simple history taking & the local examination is quite enough. Thank you

Sorry. But I can not agree to you on this point. If the patient consult a Gastroenterologist .who is supposed to be a superspecialist. He will definitely rule out the tests to rule out inflammatory bowel disease. Like ulcertive colitis. Also the blood test are probably to see the presence of anaemia related to blood loss. No test can be termed as unnecessary usually.
