My sugar level has been found fasting-127, post fasting 204. I was to undergo knee joint replacement but has been postponed till my sugar level becomes normal. I have been prescribed Metformin 500 mcg ,two tablets a day for about 15 days. Kindly advise if this medicine is ok and also diet precautions (food and fruits) so that I can control my sugar fast. Thanks.

Hello, thanks for the query. For any surgery glucose levels have to better controlled, with PP < 190 mg. Only metformin may not be enough. Thanks is a need for upgrading the treatment. Plus there's a need to look at the diet too. Thanks.
