Good evening doctor, we gave rotavirus (rotasiil) vaccine to my 2 months old baby boy, I gave breast milk soon after vaccine, after sometime I found saliva along with milk coming out from his mouth, I wanted to know whether the vaccine enter into his body or not.

Hello, Vaccines do not stimulate immunity immediately after they are administered. It takes 6 to 12 hrs. To feel antigens to be recognized. Relax! salivation during breastfeeding is a normal phenomenon. Tk, care.

Hello lybrate-user, infants take out some amount of milk after feeds normally. You have to make sure that you burp you child properly after each feed. Coming to the vaccine part, do not worry. Just give the next dose whenever its due.
