Antibiotic shouldn't be your first approach if problem subsides by local measures. It includes professional cleaning by a dentist and use of warm saline water, mouthwash, painkillers. If antibiotics are prescribed then only take. Antibiotics has a wide range and depends on severity of infection. Unskilled/immature professionals prescribe it frequently without a second thought of future complications.
