Thanks for the query. The fasting and PP blood glucose levels mentioned are very high, suggesting present treatment is inadequate. Ideally FBG should be < 100 mg, PP should be around 150 to 170 mg & HbA1c% < 6.8. Considering this, there has to be a re-look at the current treatment. Plus we also have to give a close look at your diet, extent of exercise. Another important aspect is that with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 32.95 kgs/M2 you are already in grade 1 obesity, (close to grade 2). This is one of the major impediments for achieving better blood glucose control. Your ideal body weight should be 62 kgs or even less. So please take necessary steps to reduce weight. In this communication we are supposed to give only general suggestions about lifestyle and diet & exercise etc. No prescriptions are allowed. If you are looking for specific drugs to be added, then please come in a private conversation with following details: current Fasting, PP glucose levels, HbA1c%, Lipid levels, BP readings, drugs being taken with dosage, dietary pattern & extent of daily physical activity including exercise. Then I will be able to give specific guidance and prescriptions if required. Thanks.
