Pneumococcal vaccine is necessary vaccine which should be selected with one to one discussion with parents & pediatrician. In India pneumonia is one of the leading cause of morbidity & mortality in children. So it is best to vaccinate against those bacterias. Pneumococcal vaccine comes in two types one contains 10 Pneumococcal serotypes & other contains 13.

Hi pneumonia vaccine is helpful to prevent serious pneumonia and meningitis. Government is not making it compulsory due to economical reasons. In western world it's compulsory. You can decide the rest. Thanks.
