I am an athlete and the bottom part of my ring finger pains when I do pull-ups with my fingers. This has been the case for a few months now. Is is just muscle strain or a pulley?

It is advisable to visit a doctor and do some basic tests to rule out if there is anything serious problem. You can take some rest or do exercise intermittently depending upon your comfort level. Eat only healhty food and avoid all bad habits. Please revert after the visit to the doctor for further clarification. You can also try Homeopathy which is safe and gentle. Hi lybrate-user Pull-ups require you to call on some significant strength from your body in order to perform a successful rep. Not only do you need a strong back and biceps to get your face up to that bar, but you need to have a strong grip as well. Having a good grip necessitates having strong forearm, wrist, hand and finger muscles. If your fingers ache, you may want to work on your grip strength. It's a case of muscle weakness that is causing the pain. Go for grip strengthening exercises. Get an text, audio or video consultation. Regards.
