Dear Sir my age is 62 years old I am suffering from chronic anal fistula past 4-5 months initially too much pain & bleeding but now it has become small but roots are still alive its not cured fully sometimes pain n some discharges comes normally I am using betadine solution n sucral ano cream with some homeopathic medicines but recovery is very slow I want to avoid surgery please suggest some other effective ointments or medicines that I can it will your great help I don't want to undergo surgery.

You need to be examined by a general surgeon and proctoscopy to be done to find out what exactly it is, if it is a fissure then keep your stools soft by taking plenty of fluids orally and high fibre diet even you can take syp cremaffin 3 to 6 tsf hs daily, use ointment lox anally 10 min before defecation and ointment nitrogesic anally 5 min before defecation for 6 months.

Please get yourself examined by a surgeon. It may not be possible to avoid surgery for a fistula in ano. Get an MRI fisulogram done to visualize the entire fisula tract. You are likely to require Fistulectomy.
