Hello. Mind's job is to think & as you wrote most of the times it overthinks. Most of the times we don't think; thoughts come into our mind from outside. You have tried meditations. You must have read about Koan. It is a zen concept to stop the unnecessary chattering of the mind. If you will read about it you will come across many small small exercises through which you can calm your mind. Slowly the span will increase & you will get rid of overthinking too. Have a happy healing. :)
Take sound sleep everyday. Do yoga and take morning fresh air.
