Over the last one month I have been experiencing split-second lightheadedness. The frequency is about once a week. After it passes I feel a slight bit of nausea and discomfort but within a few minutes I am fine. On the instructions of my GP I got a carotid Doppler done, MRI of brain, stress echo test, holster test and ambulatory test. All came normal. I am diabetic and hypertensive. I take concor 2.5, metformin and urimax 0.4. I also take a statin and 75 mg ecosprin.

If every report is normal, you should go for a Vitamin profile.

You need to get yourself checked what you are having is intermittent tachycardia / arrhythmia which means that intermittently your heart rate increases or the heart Rhythm changes which can be dangerous if it does not get corrected on its own. Or it can be an early sign of impending heart disease. But to diagnose it you need to get an ECG done while you are having the rhythm problem or you can get holter monitoring for 24 hours during which if you have this episode it will get registered and documented. But if the episode does not happen in this time, it may not be recorded.in that case you might consider re-doing the test if ever episodes become frequent. Till that time you can continue you medication .and monitor your BP & heart rate daily & it your heart rate increases more than 90 or more regularly. Then you have to increase the concor. Also keep the BP & sugar in control.
