Hi team, I got pregnant was having 2 and half month. On 12th of july at night got bleeding later on the morning consulted with games and then went for ultrasound. In the report the heart beats were not there. But in the previous report which was 15th june the heart beats were there and the report was very good. So my going further went for kretin since the heart beats were nil. Now my query is: My 13th july report is showing 7 weeks of pregnancy. Whereas, my 15th june report was showing 6 weeks of pregnancy. How come the report is showing this way. Secondly why I got bleeding since everything was going good and perfect. What is the reason behind kretin. Thanks & regards.

Hello lybrate-user. The two reports almost 1 month apart show only one week growth of foetus. That means there was pregnancy failure called missed abortion then which remained undetected and you came to know when bleeding started. Reason behind bleeding was the pregnancy failure. Reason of early pregnancy failure are multiple, most common being there might be some chromosomal abnormality in the foetus which cannot be detected this early on. Second reason can be low level of hormones in your body so that it could not support the pregnancy demand. Other reasons could be low levels of thyroid hormones or high sugar. But those are usually checked on your first antenatal visit.
