You can do any thing that you are comfortable with. If starting for the first time or not habituated to exercise then go slow. Its also important to go for regular health checkup to check the vital signs and overall health. Some tests are to be done every year. If you are diabetic then take proper precautions before you start the exercise. Keep some glucose (sugar or biscuits) ready so that your can eat it when you feel hungry.
