Under what condition does a patient need to be on a drip of glucose. Please advice.

when blood sugra falls and pt unable to food orally mostly in diabetic patient and if u mean drip of glucose as Iv saline it is needed when anyone loss too much of fluid by any means (vomiting, loose motion, burn) and unable to take orally or not posdible due to abdominal disease

In severe loss of fluid Like severe diarrhoea,severe blood loss,,burn,,accidental case..also in some cases where pt can't be given food orally then also..
