My 78 years old mother with a MVR surgery in 2012 showed an INR count of 7.7 this time. My guess is that may be because of a change in her diet including a mixture of Flex seeds and Sunflower seeds (both rich in Omega 3 fatty acids that the internet tells me are blood thinners). Right now she is advised to stop the Acitrom medicine for 2 days and repeat her PT-INR test. Please advice if she should continue her seeds to reduce the Acitrom dosage or stop the seeds and only monitor blood thickness by Acitrom. Thanks.
