After marriage both husband and wife find the freedom to eat whatever they want and whenever they want. Also there is lots of socialisation, eating out, parties, functions.. all having super heavy foods only. Hence weight gain happens. So cut down on oils/sweets/fried foods/ junk/colas/ biscuits / puris/parathas/ etc. Eat more fruits/salads/dals/veggies etc. Walk 30 mins daily. Encourage her to be fit. Dont criticize.
