A antispasmodic, Spasmex 20 mg/500 mg Tablet is used for the treatment of functional disturbances of GI motility such as irritable bowel syndrome. It reduces the symptoms of intestinal and stomach cramping. This medicine works by slowing down the natural movements of the gut and by relaxing the stomach and intestine muscles.

This medication must not be used in children younger than 6 months old and in women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Before using this medication, inform your doctor if you have a history of :

The elderly are at increased risk for anticholinergic effects, confusion and hallucinations.

The medication is to be taken by mouth, with or without food as instructed by your doctor, usually 4 times a day.
