About Acuclav Dry Syrup

Acuclav Dry Syrup is a penicillin which is used with antibiotic clarithromycin and helps in the treatment of stomach ulcers caused by bacterial infections wall formed in the stomach. It also helps in conditions such as lungs, skin, middle ear, urinary tract and sinuses. Acuclav Dry Syrup also cures conditions like tonsilitis, pneumonia, bronchitis and gonorrhea.

Make sure, you may not use Acuclav Dry Syrup if you are allergic to any penicillin. This syrup makes birth control pills less effective, so ask your doctor about using non hormonal birth to prevent pregnancy.

Many drugs interact with Acuclav Dry Syrup, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal products. Discuss with your doctor about each medicine you use.

Acuclav Dry Syrup should be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor. They are available in liquid form, as chewable tablets and extended-release tablets. You may take it with or without food.

        Urine Sugar Test

        Usage of Acuclav Dry Syrup should be reported prior to performing the test. The urine sugar test should be performed with different reagents in such cases.
      • Interaction with Medicine

        Doxycycline

        Usage of Acuclav Dry Syrup with Doxycycline should be avoided and usage of other antibiotics should be reported to the doctor.

        Methotrexate

        Usage of Acuclav Dry Syrup with Methotrexate or other chemotherapy medicines should be reported to the doctor. The levels of Methotrexate in the body along with symptoms of toxicity should be closely monitored while both these medicines are taken.

        Warfarin

        Usage of Acuclav Dry Syrup with Warfarin should be reported to the doctor. The clotting time should be monitored promptly. Symptoms like increased bleeding, swelling, dizziness and weakness should be reported immediately.

        Ethinyl Estradiol

        Usage of Acuclav Dry Syrup with Ethinyl Estradiol decreases the effectiveness of oral contraceptive pills, which might result in unplanned pregnancies.

        Mononucleosis

        The condition should be reported to the doctor before taking Acuclav Dry Syrup so that proper substitute can be prescribed.

        Colitis

        Acuclav Dry Syrup should be discontinued if severe diarrhea occurs. Patients having a history of Colitis should be monitored closely.

        Renal Diseases

        Acuclav Dry Syrup should be given after making adjustments in the dosage. The kidney function should be periodically monitored especially if the dosage is for a longer period of time. Suitable dose adjustments are to be made if a patient is on hemodialysis.
