I have brown patches on my palm of hand and doctor told me I am suffering from tinea nigra which is a fungal infection. I read it somewhere that this fungal infection is also a symptom of hiv is that so?

I am sorry to hear about your concern but will be happy to assist you. Tinea nigra is a very rare fungal infection. It causes brown or black patches to develop on the soles of the feet, the palms of the hand, or, on rare occasions, the torso. A type of yeast called hortaea werneckii causes most tinea nigra infections. Let's connect over a call so that we can discuss your concern in details and make a suitable treatment plan for you.
