I have been advised sertraline, fluvoxamine and clonazepam for anxiety and ocd disorders. Will these medications be problematic during my exam preparation as I have cat exam on 29 november?

It all depends how well you are able to tolerate the medications especially in the initial few days of starting and while escalating the dose. If you tolerate well now, you will not be having any problem during the exam. Instead it will help you in exam by keeping your anxiety and oc symptoms at bay. Please please don't forget to taper and stop clonazepam in 1-2 week of starting. Fluvoxamine and sertraline are safe to continue even in long term.

Dear lybrate-user, it depends on the dose and timing of these medicines, especially clonazepam. It also depends on your anxiety level about cat exam.

Write down your obsessive thoughts or worries. Keep a pad and pencil on you, or type on a laptop, smartphone, or tablet. When you begin to obsess, write down all your thoughts or compulsions. Keep writing as the ocd urges continue, aiming to record exactly what you’re thinking, even if you’re repeating the same phrases or the same urges over and over. Writing it all down will help you see just how repetitive your obsessions are. Writing down the same phrase or urge hundreds of times will help it lose its power. Writing thoughts down is much harder work than simply thinking them, so your obsessive thoughts are likely to disappear sooner.
