My father (64 yrs/m and diabetic) is having fever (100.8) for last 7 days. He has been taking medicines (nicip plus, cefixime, and montelukast from the very first day of illness .two days back, his blood test was done and typhoid was positive and doc prescribed with the same medication but his fever still goes up to 100.8 after 8 hrs of nicip plus. What should b done?

Miss lybrate-user as your father is diabetic and elderly, I suggest you to run few more investigation and try to fins out other source of infection irrespective of thyphoid. I would like to add this if the blood sugars are not under control then the infection control will be delayed and once the infection is subsided get done all the elderly vaccination.
