My mother is taking treatment for ra ild. She is also having autoimmune disorder. Medicines right now are mmf 500 mg twice a day. Due to corona she is not able to go for a routine monthly checkup at aiims delhi. From last three days during the night time she is having 99.5 fever. Fever only occurs at night with slight body ache. Rest of the day she is fine without any problem. What could be the possible reason for it. Her age is 52. Weight 72.

Hi lybrate-user, actually mmf is an immunosupressive drug which is prescribed because she is suffering from ra which is an autoimmune disorder. So since mmf is supressing her immunity there is high chance for her to get infected. Always remember fever is just a symptom. So unless and untill she is on those immunosupresants make sure that her surrounding are healthy, food is fresh and health. Boiled drinking water. If fever continues based on her blood investigations we would prescribe her an antibiotic with an antipyretic like dolo 650 mg. And being corona prevailing outside nd as she is on immunosupresants there is high chance for her to get infected. So better do not opt to go outside unless and until its necessary. Stay healthy stay safe.
