Me and my partner had sex in january 17 2020 after sex she had ipill and got her periods on 21 after that in february around 10th feb she got and seizure attack while sleeping and was admitted to hospital where she again had periods for about 4 days and after that she is advised to take levesam 500 mg per day this month march she hasn't had her periods plus she has also gained about 2 kg weight in last one month since february what could be the reason we were not involved in sex after january 17. What could be the reason for no periods.

Ipills contain a large dose of synthetic progesterone hormone. It is safe in terms of toxicity and side effects in comparison to other medications used for emergency contraception. Estrogen and progesterone are known to cause seizures and migraine and micro blood vessel occlusion. And also irregular menses in the coming cycles due to hormonal imbalance created by the pill. Hence it is advised to consult a doctor first before popping pills. If this is the first episode of convulsions then need to make a note permanently henceforth. But it always good to evaluate the cause of epilepsy further. Levesam is also known to cause irregular menses because it causes fluctuation of hormone levels in the blood by affecting the metabolism of the hormone. The pt needs to consult for personal opinion.
