My baby will be six months old on 10 february, for more than six weeks now, he always scratch his ear a times, azithromycin was given but yet no improvement, diagnosis was made and he was said to have plenty wax and otomycosis, cerumol and flucamed ear drops was recommended, and the ear to be washed after one week of the ear drop use, please how safe is this ear drops to my baby, and is it the right route to follow.

Ear drops are fine but avoid ear washing/syringing. It leads to deafness later on! ask your doctor to opt for micro-suctioning the cerumen out under otomicroscopic guidance.

Dear lybrate-user, the prescription of druge is correct. Ear washing is for wax only, treatmennt for otomycosis usualy lasts for 14 days. Regards.dr. Vilas.
