Today I was cleaning a metal shelf (below the bottom of the shelf) and I got a cut on my hand. My last tetanus vaccine was on 12th august 2019 when I got a metal cut on my feet. Should I get another tetanus vaccine? I got the cut just 1 hour back. Please help.

You can get it through a cut or other wound. Tetanus bacteria are commonly present in soil, dust, and manure. The tetanus bacteria can infect a person even through a tiny scratch. But you are more likely to get tetanus through deep punctures from wounds created by nails or knives. Additional doses every 10 years are recommended. After three doses almost everyone is initially immune. In those who are not up to date on their tetanus immunization a booster should be given within 48 hours of an injury. Let's discuss your problem for better consultation and prevention.
