Hello, I work in a software organization. And I do device testing. I work on 3 devices. 2 are 14 inch screen devices and another is 21 inch monitor. I feel due to staring from too close in the 21 inch monitor I am facing neck pain. Should I replace the 21 inch monitor with a smaller monitor. Please give your opinion.

Hi rather than decreasing size of monitor you should adjust the height of monitor and chair. It is the most common problem of neck pain in a person who is working mostly on computer or laptop. Well, I will suggest you do the following 1. Posture correction: sit straight upright on the chair while working. Use a chair with proper back support and put roll 4 -5 inch thick below your back just above hips while working. It will help you to maintain posture 2. Put height of your monitor in such a way that the exact centre of the monitor comes at your nose or chin level so your neck remains in a neutral position while working 3. Do head retraction exercise (google search for it) whenever you're in pain or after prolonged work on the monitor (1-2 hours) no improvement than consult your nearest physical therapist for further examination thank you.
