Breast milk is best nutrition for the baby if fir some reasons you are not able to give breast feeds formula feed can be given....Cows milk should not be given as risk of cows milk protein allergy and hypocalcemia increases....dairy milk is sort of refined cows or buffalo milk only avoid till 1yr of age.....

dairy milk (cow and buffalo) is not recommended below 1yr age due to increased allergen content n complex proteins in them give lactogen or nan-pro (stage 1 till 6mnths age and stage 2 above 6mnths till 1yr age). buffalo milk is way better than cow milk post 1yr due to high fat content which is reqd for kid's weight gain.
