I have sever pain in my tooth. Looks like my nerve is exposed. I am getting temporary relief when I drink cold water like for 2 min exactly. I took mox 500 and ibobrufen 400. It isn?t working. Please suggest what to do to reduce pain. I am planning to visit the dentist once the pain subsides for further treatment.

Ms. lybrate-user,kindly do not take self medication. Waiting for pain to subside is not useful. The pain might be due to dental caries involving dental pulp. This pain can subside after treatment by the dentist.

Kindly visit a nearby dentist and get an x-ray done to judge the severity of condition. Temporary relief is not a solution to your problem. Even if the painkiller or antibiotics which your taking are not giving you releif. That means the situation is bad itself. Kindly visit a dentist you would get immediate releif. You may try tab keterol dt for pain. Rest medications are ok.
