I have damaged tooth. So I consulted a doctor. She suggested me a root canal treatment. She told me that as part of this treatment, my teeth are to be washed and I have to visit the hospital for 4 sittings, then my damaged tooth is covered with cap. Today my teeth are washed and there are holes in one tooth, if I eat anything it will go into those holes and also it's aching me alot. please tell me, is this the correct procedure of treatment or they are just trying to gain money from me by asking me to visit the hospital again and again? And also is it not possible to keep cap on the tooth on the same day of teeth cleaning? please someone suggest me what to do now.

Please go ahead with the treatment. your doctor has suggested the correct sequence.

Hello, root canal treatment nowadays can be done in a single sitting but if the infection is more than multiple sitings may be required as between each sitting some medicine is kept in the canal and once your pain is fine the final sitting is conducted. Apart from this ask your dentist to kindly close it because its not a good thing if the food is getting stuck in that hole. Apart from this crown will be done only after the root canal is completed so after root canal your tooth will be trimmed from all the sides and than a impression will be taken after that lab will take 3-4 days to fabricate the crown and than the crown will be permanently cemented on your root canal treated tooth. Thanks.

Yes it is correct. They will then fill the cement in the hole and then will put the cap.
