A normal range in adults is generallye 700,000 to 5.2 million red blood cells per microliter (mcL) of blood for men and 500,000 to 4.6 million red blood cells per mcL of blood for women. if your level is 5.8million then it means it is on higher side . it may be caused due to various reasons like 1. dehydration is the most common cause . 2.medicines 3.kidney disorders 4.certain heart conditionds 5.some lung conditions out of these dehydration is more common . please consult doctor to get more information n your health condition and to treat you well.take care .
