Rhinitis is an inflammation of the nose caused due to external agents such as allergens, virus and bacteria. It causes the mucous membrane to secrete excessive amounts of mucus especially during cold. Infectious rhinitis if left untreated for a long time, might cause pneumonia. The condition is quite common place and shows symptoms like itching, irritation, sneezing and headache. It is easily cured by administering corticosteroid drugs.
