Patent Ductus Arteriosus is a faulty condition of the heart where the heart pumps excess blood through the pulmonary vein. If Ductus Arteriosus is present, blood will flow from the aorta to the pulmonary artery. A newborn with Ductus Arteriosus may face difficulties while breathing, frequent respiratory infections, lack of energy and other problems associated with the lungs.
