Multiple System Atrophy is a neurological disorder that leads to the degeneration of nerve cells in parts of the brain that control autonomic functions, balance and movement. There is no known cause or cure of the disease and treatment aims to manage symptoms. This includes physiotherapy and prescription medication.
HOW IS MULTIPLE SYSTEM ATROPHY DIAGNOSED?
MSA patients typically survive for about 8 years after diagnosis, as there is no remission for it.
