Moles are common forms of skin lesions that are usually benign. They frequently appear in early childhood, up to the age of 30, and it is normal for an adult to have from 30 to 40 moles. They can appear in clusters or alone on any part of the visible layer of skin. Moles can disappear over time or change color. If they change shape, height or color drastically, it is advisable to have a dermatologist check them as they may develop into melanoma, a serious form of skin cancer.
