Hello, Thanks for the query.
It is necessary to control hypothyroidism effectively with adequate dosage of Levothyroxine. TSH should be maintained around 3 to 4 mU/L to be free from all the symptoms. In hypothyroidism usually burning sensaation of feet and palm is rarely observed. This is an indication of peripheral neuropathy. Please check your blood glucose levels too. Thanks.

Hypothyroid caused by diminished hormonal availibility will always be kept under control by thyronorm or eltroxin only. Other medicines mentioned have no role. You are supposed to be visiting your doctor periodically, regularly for monitoring tsh levels by blood test and making suitable fixing of dosage of thyronorm life long. There should be no problem.

Mr. lybrate-user, thanks for the query. With TSH 6.1 mU/L, she has subclinical hypothyroidism. Usually no treatment is advocated in this situation. However, if person has weight gain and other troublesome symptoms of hypothyroidism, then treatment is necessary. Ideally TSH should be maintained < 3 mU/L for being totally symptoms free. Even the efforts to reduce weight will not succeed if TSH is high. Thanks.

Av block is often caused by fibrosis or sclerosis of the conduction system secondary to ischaemic cardiac disease or drugs. Another, less common, cause is of av block is severe hypothyroidism. They work by slowing down the production of thyroid hormone and do not cause permanent damage. While beta blockers will not change the levels of thyroid hormone in your blood, they will make you feel better by reducing some of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism, including increased heart rate, shakes, and ner...more
