I am suffering from hypothyroidism. I am taking thyronorm 12.5 what diets I should avoid and what to prefer.

lybrate-user, If you have hypothyroidism and on treatment TSH should be between 3 to 4 mU/L, to be free from all the symptoms. As regards the diet following things should be avoided: Soy beans, soy containing products, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, radish, peanuts, mustard and coffee. Should consume good deal of green leafy vegetables, salads and fruits. Should always use whole grain flour for chapati and roti. Avoid refined flour like maida and food products made out of it. Total diet should be restricted to match the need based on ideal body weight (52 kgs) and extent of daily exercise. Thanks.
