How is the treatment done?

Sun tanning is a very common condition where your skin color is darkened due to over exposure to the sun. This tan is caused by the harmful UV (ultraviolet) rays of the sun that partially burns the sensitive content in your skin. Sometimes artificial tanning is also obtained such as tanning sprays and sun bathing. Sometimes you might be more prone to sun tanning with aging and you might develop certain spots which might indicate skin cancer as well. During this tanning process the melanin pigment in your skin is affected and it results into direct or indirect DNA damage. The tanning process indicates a change in your skin color which varies from dark brown to nearly a colorless pigmentation. Even if you do not have sun burns, by tanning you can obtain permanent or temporary skin damage which results into wrinkles in your skin, saggy skin and permanently darkened skin which might also caused age spots and discoloration of your skin. A normal skin tan would last for six to ten days but if you have over exposure then it can last up to a couple of months. If you chose to seek cosmetic help then you can obtain the help of the tan chart which helps you to decide the amount of cream or lotions that you need to apply.

Who is eligible for the treatment? (When is the treatment done?)

The treatment for sun tanning usually does not require any form of special treatment unless and until it indicates signs of skin cancer. Mostly home remedies help you to overcome the problems of sun tanning. Sometimes medicinal sunscreen lotions of SPF 30 or more are prescribed to prevent sun burns. Other home remedies involve applying lemon juice on the tanned areas and wait for a few minutes before you wash it off. The application of yogurt is an effective way to prevent skin tanning and skin burns. Yogurt helps to cool off your skin and reduces the pores of your skin to prevent redness and tanning. You can apply fresh aloe vera before going to bed and also in the morning and then wash your skin properly. If you are diagnosed with skin cancer then you might need to seek medical attention as it might spread all over your body gradually and you might need surgeries and chemotherapies. Tan lines are a common symptom for those who are suffering from sun tanning, tan lines can also be removed through medicinal and ayurvedic approaches. Aloe vera helps you to get rid of these tan lines and you can take necessary preventive measures to avoid direct sun exposure and in return avoid sun tanning.

Who is not eligible for the treatment?

If you notice that certain part of your skin which is exposed faces a darker complexion than the other parts of your skin then it is an indication of sun tanning and you are eligible for this course of treatment.

Are there any side effects?

Sometimes you might develop skin spots which might indicate skin cancer. You should consult with your medical expert because if you are diagnosed with skin cancer, you should obtain treatment immediately as it spreads all over your body.

What are the post-treatment guidelines?

Certain lotions and medications can be allergic to your skin. You need to look into the lotions that you are applying and if you face allergies or irritations then you should avoid using that lotion.

How long does it take to recover?

There is no doubt that sun helps you to improve your Vitamin D levels but you should limit your sun bathing and wear clothes that expose less skin. You should apply a sunscreen lotion before going outdoors in the sun.

What is the price of the treatment in India?

Are the results of the treatment permanent?

The sun screen lotions price varies from company to company. It usually ranges from Rs. 100 to 1,000. The other ayurvedic forms of treatment that you are obtaining range around Rs. 200 to Rs. 800.

What are the alternatives to the treatment?
