Treatment depends on the symptoms and if the person is unable to walk or feeling numbness or unbearable pain than we should go for surgery and if there is only mild symptoms present than we can go for rest with physiotherapy treatment.

Yes you can do gymming and heavy wieghts.
Precautions:
1. Use professional belts while gymming.
2. Avoid any exercises that make you bend forward.
3. Avoid exercises that being head and foot/knees together. 4. Perform spine extension exercises. 5. Always warm up and limber down.
6. Realise your body potential and don't think of lifting really heavy weights.

your body weight is excess according to your height n spine is loading joint so you need to do physical activity. U should avoid jogging jerky movt rather you should begin with floor exercises followed by 20 min normal walk with progression to brisk walk later.
