Children often suffer from skin disorders such as chickenpox, impetigo, hand, foot and mouth disease and slapped cheek syndrome. These skin problems occur in toddlers and children between 5 to 12 years of age. You must take your child to a pediatrician in case he/she has rashes or spots in any part of the body for diagnosis and treatment. Rashes are not harmful in most cases and usually are cured if topical antibiotics are applied over the affected area. Heat rash also known as prickly heat is another common skin problem among children during summers as their skin is delicate and remains exposed to heat outdoors. Applying powder and allowing the sweat to dry provides relief and helps in curing the rash.
HOW IS SKIN PROBLEMS IN CHILDREN DIAGNOSED?
Children must wear light colored cotton clothes in summer to prevent heat rashes.
