Hello. Regular dental visits helps you to check the plaque/calculus/tartar level that builds up between gum and teeth which is a main reason for bad breath. Other conditions like food and drink, such as garlic, onions, coffee, and alcohol, can temporarily cause bad breath. Smoking, malnutrition, ear and throat infections may too causes bad breath. Drink plenty of water and swish cool water around in your mouth. Brush after every meal and floss, preferably twice a day. Replace your toothbrush every two to three months. Scrape your tongue each morning with a tongue scraper to decrease the bacteria, fungi, and dead cells that can cause odor. Treatment includes scaling and proper oral prophylaxis.
