Since 4 to 5 months I hv chest pain and burning in chest and stomach. Im taking sompraz 40 mg tablet. But still no control. I took all necessary blood tests and ecg including kidney and liver tests as suggested. But everything is normal. Doctors said gastric problem. Still no relief even after taking tablets. Please suggest a way.

Dear lybrateuser, - Along with medication more important is to take dietary precaution, - avoid spicy, fried, sour & junk foods, also restrict intake of tea, coffee to 1-2 cups per day,also avoid citrus fruits, raw onion, garlic, chocolate & mint - do not skip meals, have meals on time, chew your food well, have 4-5 small meals including snacks rather than three large meals, do not lye down for at least 1-2 hrs after meals, have dinner 3-4 hrs before bedtime, raise pillow end by 4-6 inches while sleeping - have 7-8 glasses of water per day for proper digestion - do regular exercise like walking, jogging, yoga, deep breathing to reduce acidity & keep the body fit - if pain doesn't reduce then consult your doctor you may require a change of medication.
