My baby girl is 12 months old and 8 kgs only. Her birth weight was 3 kgs. She eats pureed food any solid given she will not accept and vomits. We are not forcing her to eat but we are trying on solids. I also want to introduce top milk. Confused on cows/buffalo/tetra pack and whether to give it on day time or night. Lastly she will gain weight if I introduce top milk as I am still continuing breastfeeding. Thanks.

Important to shift from liquid to solid diet but it is a gradual process can not be done overnight. Start with semisolid food with more liquid to meals with less liquids & finally solids. Avoid breast feed & encourage baby to take semisolids, any milk can be given if given in hygenic way. With solids condensed calories gradually child will gain weight. Compliance to solid diet is poor in begining but will improve with time & continuous efforts.

Give her well cooked in ghee nutritious diet of her choice and liking. Any top dairy milk about 125 ml at time can be given 2 times in a day, morning and evening or at her desire time. U continue breastfeeding. Only breastfeeding is not sufficient.

You can give any milk but not in bottle and feed with a cup and spoon. You have to lovingly make her eat all foods. Check TSH also to see hypothyroidism as a cause for lack of eating and not gaining weight.
