Dear sir/madam I have a ocd and soft bipolar problem. I am on medicine from last three years. Feeling very fine. fluvoxamine 50 mg 3 times clonazepam .25 mg 3 times Clonil 75 mg at night. But problem is that my doctor is not reducing medicines. I tried to stop one time fluoxa and clonaz several times but after few days my sadness and panic attacks returned. I want to know that in these types of cases will medicine tapered slowly or not.

If you find your symptoms recurring after stopping medication, it is an indication that your treatment is incomplete. Consult your treating psychiatrist and continue the medication as prescribed by them. Premature termination of treatment can lead to relapse, worsening of symptoms, incomplete resolution of symptoms and even resistance to treatment. Always take medication as prescribed for a specific period of time. Medication can be tapered, but only by the doctor, and only when there is significant improvement. Tapering is done very gradually.
