My habit of nail biting is becoming a burden to me. Skin around my nail are becoming very tough. So how can I overcome it & prevent nail biting.

Dear lybrateuser, - Nail biting is a sign.of stress or nervousness & may be a compulsive disorder - keep your nails trimmed, do a manicure - keep your mind busy with studies, play games, follow a hobby , if you start to bite then think that it is an unhealthy habit & impurities may reach your stomach leading to health problems as nails can carry dirt, germs if not washed well.

Dear lybrate-userNail biting indicates anxiety. You probably bite your nails when you are stressed or in deep thought. Apply vase line or any moisturiser regularly on your finger tips to soothe them. Also if your finger tips are greasy you won't bite them. Tell your family to alert you each time they notice you biting your nails. Hopefully that should help too.
