I have been suffering from Scalp Psoriasis for the past 4 years. I have tried several shampoos and treatments but they didn't work well. Still I have painful itching on my head. I keep washing my head, hair everyday even if I am in fever and cold. I don't have this psoriasis anywhere on my body except head and scalp. My scalp is getting so dry and I have symptoms are visible, thick, silvery layers of dead skin cells, soreness of the scalp, bleeding and a lot of itching, and a feeling of tightness of the scalp if large areas are covered, It causes flaking of the skin much like dandruff. Friends. Please suggest me any home, herbal treatment for this disease or any other permanent solution for this scalp psoriasis. I am looking forward your valuable answers.

Hello lybrate-user Prakash Psoriasis is a stubborn disease and is gradually progressive in nature. Please do not rub your scalp a lot or very frequently because the more you peel the more scales will grow. Psoriasis happens when the normal body function of producing a layer of fresh skin on any injury gets disrupted and the body continues to produce fresh skin in an excessive manner. Each time you peel a scale off you are creating fresh injury thus indicating the body to produce more scales. Use a soft toothed comb and keep it separate. If possible wash head on alternate days. Apply coconut oil the previous night to soften the scales and reduce soreness but please wash it off next morning.
